The company behind Clip 'n Climb Chelsea, the children's climbing centre on Michael Road in Fulham, is in liquidation. What it means for bookings and vouchers.
The company that runs Clip ‘n Climb Chelsea, the indoor climbing centre for children and families, has gone into liquidation. Despite the name, the centre is in Fulham, at 19 Michael Road, SW6.
Clip and Climb Fulham Limited passed a resolution to wind itself up voluntarily on 21 October. It was published in The London Gazette on 22 October. A second notice the same day records a liquidator’s appointment, and names the type of liquidation as a creditors’ voluntary liquidation.
What the notices say
The Gazette record is short. It shows:
- Company: Clip and Climb Fulham Limited, company number 08528748, trading as Clip ‘n Climb Chelsea
- Address: 19 Michael Road, Fulham, SW6 2ER, both the registered office and the trading address
- Business: “other amusement and recreation activities”
- Resolution to wind up: passed by written resolution on 21 October 2026
- Liquidator: Daniel Leigh of Leigh Consultancy Limited, Borehamwood, appointed on 21 October by the company’s members and creditors
An earlier notice, published on 8 October, gave creditors notice of a virtual decision on 21 October. They were asked to nominate a liquidator and to approve his fees.
A creditors’ voluntary liquidation is the route open to directors when a company cannot pay its debts. GOV.UK’s guidance says a director can propose it if “the company cannot pay its debts (it’s ‘insolvent’)” and enough shareholders agree.
The company was set up in May 2013, according to Companies House. On 1 November the register still showed it as “Active”. GOV.UK gives a company 15 days to send a winding-up resolution to Companies House, so the register can lag behind the Gazette.
Is the centre still open?
We cannot say. Neither notice says whether the centre has stopped trading, and the company has published no statement that we could find.
When we checked on 1 November, the centre’s own website, clipnclimbchelsea.co.uk, did not load. Its online ticket shop, run by DigiTickets, was still up, with pages for climbing sessions, toddler and SEND sessions and gift vouchers. We could not tell whether any sessions were still on sale. The national Clip ‘n Climb site still listed Chelsea among its independently run centres.
Clip ‘n Climb is a franchise brand. Each “independent centre” on that list is run by a separate local business, so this liquidation is about the Fulham centre only. The Wandsworth centre, the nearest other one, is listed separately as a premier centre.
What it means for you
If you have booked a session or a party, or you hold a gift voucher, do not assume it will be honoured.
- Contact the liquidator first. Leigh Consultancy’s office is on 020 8455 6611, the number given in both Gazette notices. Ask whether the centre is trading and what will happen to existing bookings.
- Register as a creditor. Citizens Advice says you should always register a claim as a creditor if you have paid for something you have not had. It also warns that others, such as banks, are paid first, “so you might not get any money back”.
- Paid more than £100 by credit card? You may be able to make a Section 75 claim against the card provider, Citizens Advice says. This does not apply to debit cards.
- Paid by debit card, or under £100? You can ask your bank for a chargeback. Citizens Advice says the bank does not have to agree, and that “many bank staff don’t know about the chargeback scheme, so you might need to talk to a manager”.
Planning a birthday in the next few weeks? Book a backup before you lose the date. Our things to do in Fulham page lists other family venues in the borough.
